MidCoast Shakespeare Studio’s inaugural Summer Shakespeare Festival will happen in Belfast, ME during the month of July 2025 and will include an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, performed by our Adult Troupe (ages 18+). For audition information, please see below.

Live auditions are preferred, but we are accepting recorded audition submissions via email. Please see below for both options.
Twelfth Night
Our summer festival rehearsals will run remotely beginning June 22 and in-person beginning July 6, 2025. Our performances will run July 23 - August 2, 2025
No Shakespeare experience necessary - our cast will train with professional theater experts on all aspects of performance
We are currently non-Equity and there are no fees for participating
Limited housing is available for out-of-area actors
This season, auditions are for adult actors (18+)
Actors should expect to rehearse 4 days a week during the rehearsal period. Monday-Friday rehearsals will occur during the evening. Saturday & Sunday rehearsals could occur during the day or evening.
Rehearsals will be held at our Studio in Belfast, ME
Performances will be mostly outdoors in Belfast, ME
We will be hosting in-person auditions & callbacks at our Studio in Belfast, ME
We are accepting digital auditions until May 1, 2025
In-Person Audition Info:
Live auditions will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 10 AM to 2 PM in our studio at 9 Field Street, Suite 118, Belfast, ME. All auditioners, including same-day, must register online with us in advance. We will send you additional information once you have registered with us.
For live auditions, please prepare UNDER FOUR MINUTES TOTAL, consisting of:
One Shakespeare monologue OR
One Shakespeare monologue + one contrasting monologue (Shakespeare or not)
Please bring a hard copy of your resume, and be prepared for a short interview with the production team.
Recorded Audition Info:
Please record two contrasting pieces, at least one of them Shakespeare, and upload them as a single video UNDER FOUR MINUTES to YouTube.
